Pranayama is started once a firm foundation in asana has been established. It is the science of breath, the process of the elongation, expansion and extension of each breath.
The benefits of the different PRANAYAMA techniques, UJJAYI, VILOMA and BHRAMARI, will be added to the weekly Restorative classes at the end of each month.
Prana means breath, respiration, life or strength. Pranayama is an art and has techniques to make the respiratory organs to move and expand intentionally and rhythmically. It is not just automatic breathing to keep body and soul together.
